Capitol Hyundai
Beware of online pricing. I called Capitol Hyundai about a 2021 Hyundai Venue Denim I saw online. The salesman said the vehicle had been sold. I said thanks and hung up. He then sent me a text and picture of a Hyundai Venue he had in stock. I had just looked at 2 othe dealerships and they had $3-5k worth of dealer mark-up and add ons. I texed back to him and asked what the price was with the add ons. Never got an answer. I assume the $3-5k mark-up applies to Capitol Hyundai.
I bought my brand new Kona EV here in July 2022 and while I love the car, but it has been beyond frustrating to deal with the Capitol Hyundai every step of the way. The finance guy lied to us about how much was needed to put down and that we didn't need a co-signer, so we sent our co-signer home. Then when we were alone he said nevermind, and we ended up having to put almost 5k more down to do it without the co-signer. I've needed help 2 times over 18 months and I've left shaking with anger every time. First time I had an issue with my tire pressure moniter keep warning me about a tire even though I kept filling it up. I made an appointment, asked over the phone for a loaner as I needed to get to work (1 hour away). Once I got there they sent me to Enterprise where I waited 3 hours, because Hyundai didn't give them verbal approval to pay for the loaner. They then said to come back and get my car because I just had to fill up my tires. I said that I already had a million times but it keeps going down, so I took it somewhere else and they fixed the faulty monitor. Then last night, I popped a tire on my way home from work. I call roadside assistance through Hyundai and they tow me here. This morning they call and want to charge me $600 claiming nothing is covered under warranty even though I bought tire warranty on top of the 10 year bumper to bumper that they claim is "America's best warranty". I absolutely hate Capitol Hyundai!
Capitol Hyundai used to be a respected dealer but now they are even worse than the average Stealership. FIrst they said the had my configuration in stock and I was stopping by to get it. Then, miraculously, the car is gone but the sleazy salesperson says "no worries" we have your configuration at another dealer and I am picking it up for you but was not sure if he will get it the same day. Towards the end of the day he says it will have to be Tomorrow and I will call you what time to come in and sign the paperwork. Next day I exchange texts and ask what is the status and what time to come in. He then says we are awaiting approval from the other stealership and did not get it yet although the day before he said they already have it. Mind you he said repeatedly they can get any car because they have excellent relationships with them. After I keep nagging him he calls me on Tuesday afternoon saying that they did not get the approval yet because the other dealers are not responsive like they are (yah, Sure). On Wednesday, I am contacting him again and now he says they cannot get it till the weekend. I said how do you know that? Again he says it is 100% guaranteed. On Wednesday I am contacting him to check status and offered to buy it and go myself to pick it up. He said that is not possible. So I said, OK, then let me come in and buy it and I will pick it up when it arrives. Again that is "not possible" even though another DGDG dealership does that and the own both dealerships. His response to this was "each dealership has their own rules even if both are DGDG. Turns out that liar was taking two days off and that is why he delayed me to the weekend. When I heard that I told him why not have someone else handle this. Finally he puts me through to Ayar. I rehashed the deal we had negotiated and with the classic bait and switch, he tries to increase the price by $770. I said that is not what we agreed to, and basically his attitude was "take it or leave it" . Anyway, this level of utter contempt towards the customers is precisely why car salespeople have a reputation that is used as example of sleaze. The two i dealt with at Capitol Hyundai are the poster child of why that reputation exists. Mind you I have in the past purchased 5 vehicles from DGDG dealership and this was going to be my 6th, but after this experience, I am shopping elsewhere. I also recommended them to many people so I am sure I influenced over a dozen purchases over the years. Going forward my recommendation is to avoid this stealership and they lost me as a customer forever. I am even contemplating contacting Hyundai headquarters to file a complaint.

Very nice staff, but if you're waiting for service, it's going to take a very long time and the waiting room is a bit of a mess. Coffee machines, but no cups or coffee. You give the same info. 3 times in the first 45 minutes. Then the 2-3 hours wait starts (if you're just getting a software recall fixed.) Come prepared with what you need to get through the day. They offer rides to somewhere within 10 miles.
I can’t even with the very poor example of a human being, (maybe named Dane, Dave?), who was standing outside the portable Sales trailer (construction in progress). Older (60s perhaps) white male, wearing some sort of car racing type billed cap. He was so absolutely off putting, disrespectful, condescending, RUDE, in his response to my partner and I, when we said we’d love to hear more about the Hyundai Holiday Event, and to see any of the vehicles offered at 0.00% apr, for 36 months. Guffawing offensively at our request, he replied, “ i’ve never heard of 0% on anything, for any amount of time, and all of my years working with cars! Followed by another few guffaws and a look back at his much younger coworker, who didn’t say a word.
called to get answers on a car, salesman was extremely rude and had attitude. Do not recommend this place to anyone unless you would like to be treated like an idiot.
Hundai dealers at dealer ship give a 5 star to few,but to the service ppl nop!!! Especially to a Spanish one that i come 23 min after my appt ( but i call at 1.00 when i new i was going to be late spoke to a girl she said fine no problem!!!) When I got here the guy that said was the advisor make a face when I told was late and then had a attitude from the beginning like!!! He knows it all!!! Instead of truly work with you they are under construction and instead of showing you where is the lounge just point and sign, and one very very nice hundai dealer.just took the time and show me the lounge that is truly cust service to my adviser only will give a 1 star, having a attitude!!! With cust that is wrong !!! No matter how day is going or if a difficult cust.hope next time get someone better.that is happy to work with the customer not just bundling paper and saying mamm this is your total.especialy when you are 1 time coming!!! Very disappointed with mr henry palacios.only 1 star man for you!!!
Bought an almost brand new 2021 Santa Fe. It had crazy low mileage, somewhere around 100 or so miles on it when we drove it off the lot. 2 months later all the dash warning lights suddenly went off. And our warranty is useless. Even though it includes a rental, we can’t get the rental until the car has been diagnosed. Our car has now been there for over a week and today, after going by in person because they do not return phone calls, they said they don’t think they will be able to even diagnose it (let some get parts and perform labor) until hopefully next week.
We bought out our Kona Lease end of December 2021 with Cody's help. Cody Blanchard was pleasant and professional. Thanks for your help Cody.
I am so happy I found Tommy Tran at Capital Hyundai. I knew the exact vehicle I wanted and it was just a matter of finding a salesperson with who I could have a conversation and work with me on the price. In this market, most salespeople take it for granted and all they want is for you to "just come in." They speak like you are wasting their time. Sorry if you can't show me you're willing to have a conversation and listen to my questions, I don't want to do business with you. From the start, Tommy spoke like a friend who got my back and will do what he can to help a friend. I am from the Los Angeles area, so I plan to fly up there to pick up my vehicle; therefore, agreeing on a price is a MUST. I was nervous flying up as what if he changes the terms of our agreement after I few up there. Everything we agreed upon was exactly as is on paper when I arrived. He had most of the paperwork ready. I was in and out in about 1 hour. Esmi Alcaraz (Finance Director) was pleasant to work with also. He assured me that there were no hidden fees, showed me the numbers, and took the time to explain the extended warranty and the Pros and Cons. Most Finance Director will only present the Pros (I'm not too fond of a one-sided story). Hearing my concern and working with me on the warranty plan I would be comfortable with, I purchased an extended warranty. This is something I never purchase because I typically take pretty good care of my vehicles. Because Capital Hyundai has good, honest people, they earned my business.
BAIT AND SWITCH. These people are unscrupulous -- I was provided with a written quote for a lease, including MSRP, their Sales Price, Monthly lease payments, and the Residual Value of the car in question -- sent to me via email by salesman, Cody Blanchard -- a brown-nosing incompetent who eventually admitted he'd "only been working there seven months, and didn't know anything about leasing." The quote was again confirmed, both verbally and in writing, upon my arrival at the dealership to finalize the leasing of the car -- by the sales manager, Luis Vasquez, whom we might assume knows something about leasing. I spent approximately $100 in travel costs and an entire 10-hour day, including travel time and three hours at the dealership "finalizing the paperwork," until the finance manager finally revealed that he was not going to honor the quote, and was bumping up the residual value (the cost of the car if you want purchase it at the end of the lease) by over $1,000. Cody is an idiot, and, whenever he refused to honor quotes he'd given me over the phone, I pressed him, and showed him my notes on what he'd told me (including amounts as critical as the sales price, the msrp, and the monthly lease payment, as well as extras, such as the proffered 40% discount on a cargo cover, for instance), would backtrack and say that he "doesn't know anything about prices, and any price he quoted me was only an estimate." (He'd quoted me three different monthly payments on three different phone calls, until I finally pinned him down and said if he wanted to lease me the car for the first amount he quoted, I'd come in and give him a check.) He's all about being your friend and "helping you," but in the end, is not a man of his word. Nor is Luis, the sales manager. Don't trust a thing these people tell you -- they are not, under any circumstances, to be trusted! I would never, ever, do business with this company again!
These guys are jerks, and Tommy Tran is a minimum-wage entitled sales specialist. Gave incorrect quotes, made us drive the wrong car, was rude and wouldn’t answer questions. Sucks, despicable people.
Cody…. That’s the name to ask for. He is professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and even had Dunkaroos for my kids! I’m a lifelong used car purchaser and have Always avoided dealerships and gone private party purchases. This experience with Cody Blanchard and Capitol Hyundai has completely changed my perception! I am looking forward to the moment when I need to purchase another vehicle with Capitol Hyundai. Cody! You are the man! Thank you!
Had a really hard time dealing with lease of a Hyundai. They owed me 745 when I turned the car in. That was December 2020. It is now May 17, 2021 and I have not received any of the money back. I call every month and they say the check is processing. I am unable to call the processing team because they do not have a phone number. Does their credit take a hit because of this? NO. I would NOT use their finance department for loans or leases. Really bad customer service.
DO NOT BY A USED CAR WITHOUT A MECHANIC. The repair cost more than the car cost. Pre-existing conditions are not covered by the warranty.
I left my car for a warranty check up because my rear tires were cupping. Was told they might need to keep it overnight ( the appointment was made 3 weeks in advance). The advisor sent me a text to check on status. Sent him a text towards the end of the day. No response. Called back the next day. He is off and cannot get an answer on the status until he comes back to work. What a bogus answer. Worst service that I have ever seen.
My wife's Elantra had a left rear flat tire. She initially drove it to Capitol Hyundai (CH) to see if they could fix the flat. The greeter (Jerry I think; very friendly person) said he would put air in the tire as he did not see any nails or other visible factors that might be causing the flat. My wife then went home. The next morning we immediately noticed a very flat (same) tire on her Elantra. She called our roadside service company and they came and changed out the tire. We brought the flat tire to CH and was immediately received by Jonathan M. He too didn't see any visible nails or objects but stated we could leave the car and he assured us he would do his best to get the car back to us the same day or early the next day. We left the car and about 30 minutes later he calls me and said after conducting some tests they (technicians) determined that there was a very small piece of metal lodged deep in the tire, causing it to leak. Because it was late in the day, Jonathan said the car was ready for pick up and he would wait a few minutes until we picked up the car. He also knew we were down one car and he assured us the car would be ready. Once we retrieved our car, he greeted us with that same warm smile and explained in detail what the trouble was and what they did about it. More importantly (and past experience), mechanics and dealerships usually talk to you like you already know what the problem is and it is implied that you understand what "they" are talking about. My wife and I did not feel that way at all because he broke it down in layman's terms. As a customer, this is all we could ask for. A very pleasant experience whenever we go to CH. Thanks team!
Don't go here if you don't want to be mislead, disrespected and lied to. Long story short: I was lead to believe I was coming in to buy a car that was sold 5 days prior. And I only learned that the car was already sold upon arriving at the dealership, after having made a 50 mile trip out of my way (even though we kept in contact for the entire 5 days). Long story: I came in at 7pm on a Monday with the intention of buying a 2018 Elantra. We have agreed upon a price with the salesman John Nava beforehand, over the internet, but it took an additional 1.5 hours of negotiations with Gus, a sales manager who plays the really, really bad cop (btw, you've overdoing it a bit, Gus), just to get BACK to the agreed upon number with John. From 9 to about 11pm I was told to just sit there and wait for financing (there was literally one other customer at the dealership between two financial managers). Finally, at 11pm, in the financing office, I was offered to sign some document that did not contain any financing information, no APR or bank name, just the car+documents+tax prices. After asking which bank this is and the APR I was approved for, the financial lady told me that all the banks are now closed and they can't have me approved. I would have to take the car home and come back again tomorrow. I was very angry, since I live 50 miles away and don't have a car of my own to get back. At this point, it's a $60 uber ride home. I wasn't going to take this card blanche new car home without signing the PROPER documents first. After asking why I was made to wait this long if you knew that "the banks are closed", I got some bs from Jalil, the head finance manager, trying to convince me that everything is going to be fine and I should take the car home. The finance lady offered me a ride home, which I accepted. She went on to ask John to give me a ride home, and he got veeery angry. I said that I will come back to buy this car in two days, but much earlier in the day, but John was done talking to me at that point. I called my $60 uber ride home, while the financial manager Jalil offered to make a $60 discount on the car when I come back to buy it. A day later Jalil called me up to say that I've been approved by a bank and that everything is set. Two days later, on Wednesday, I am ready to head back to the dealership. I call Jalil with a few important questions before going, but he says he will call me back in 5. Three times. THREE times I had to call him over four hours just to be promised a callback. I ended up not going there because I didn't receive some very important answers. On Friday John Nava calls me to ask when I will be coming in to buy the car. I say I'm not sure exactly when, but next week for sure. He says GREAT! ... with a kind of "see ya never" tone... On Monday I get a cashier's check with a sizeable downpayment IN THE NAME OF THE DEALERSHIP (the dealership charges an additional $120 if you use a debit card for downpayment), ready to go get the car. I've also emailed John Nava with some final questions, just to make sure it's the same deal, but the quick to reply before man was now completely silent. Around noon I call John telling him that I will be there at 7pm and that I'd like Jalil to be there to finish our business (I wasn't going to let the $60 uber ride slide as a matter of principal). He says GREAT! Come on in, Jalil will be here. I decide to call Jalil as well, just to make sure, because I had a weird hunch about John not telling me something. I tell him that I AM COMING IN TODAY TO FINISH OUR BUSINESS. He naturally says he will "I'll call you back in 5", and, naturally, never does. At this point I still have no idea that the car I'm after is sold. I get on the train, and as I approach my final station, I get a call from Jalil at 6.30pm. He tells me two things: 1) my car was sold 5 days ago and 2) Jalil is headed to the Sharks game right now. Wow. That's awesome! At this point I decide between turning back or going there and ripping their heads off. I decided to still go and try and get the same deal. Nope. They weren't having it. The EXACT SAME CAR, but a few days "newer" was going for a grand+ more. John had a very smug look on his face when I came in. Nicely played John, nicely played. I walked out immediately. Very, very bitter aftertaste. I strongly discourage anyone from doing business with these dishonest and disrespectful people.
I recommend you go and talk to Jason Rinella, very knowledgeable and easy to work with, very professional in all aspects. If you are looking for a smooth and easy experience with buying a car, look no further, Jason Rinella at Capitol Hyundai will make your experience the best.
I have several complaints and negative information about the employees and the experience at this dealership. They do not stand by their information and if you are not alert and pay attention to details of the offer, they take advantage of you and try to have one up on you. They do not honor what they say. I will lever go back again and will never recommend my large network to ever give this place their business.
The team who assisted me were friendly and knowledgeable . I feel I received wonderful service . Andrew was not an aggressive sales person and answered all of my questions .
I am very happy with the customer service I received when purchasing my car. Simmon was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and supportive. I would definitely recommend him to other car buyers.
I had a good experience in buying the Hyundai car from the Capitol Hyundai. I really recommend others for this dealership for next purchases. Lets hope for the best services too.
Thank you for the best quality cars you design and manufacture and for the excellent service and maintenance that you offer to your customers. Robert Kenoun
